Sometimes you gotta just go with the flow…like when you plan a pretty oceanfront ceremony for late summer and it pours all day long. But Fran & Rod didn’t let a little storm ruin their big day. The newlyweds held a beautiful indoor ceremony (thanks to planner Nancy Rosen and the awesome staff at Watermans) and danced the night away lost in the moment instead of worrying about not getting beach photos. The reason they didn’t stress the photos was because we had discussed in advance shooting a bridal session after the wedding with Fran on a beautiful, sunny day. I personally love the idea of shooting an after the wedding day session for several reasons, including avoiding potentially bad weather. These sessions are so much more relaxed and fun, and at the bride and grooms pace, instead of rushing during the chaotic wedding day. Another reason may be time of year and lighting issues. Check out this after the wedding shoot that produced amazing images due to the fact we were able to take our time and even shoot in different locations.
The couple got married in August during a washout rainstorm, but they still wanted to have outdoor photos. Solution? We went out a month later and Fran loved getting back in her wedding gown and Rod even got back in his Tuxedo. If you are interested in outdoor photos but the weather doesn’t allow it, or you also want to enjoy your cocktail hour, please consider doing an after wedding shoot!
