Williamsburg Virginia Wedding Photographer | Ashley + Chase | Engaged |

303A football field, gorgeous couple, and a little horsing around… What else does a photographer need?  I am so excited to work with Ashley and Chase this fall!

Ashley and Chase met at Shore Break in Virginia Beach, a local’s favorite restaurant and bar.  It was during their college winter break two and half years ago.  Ashley says is was shocking that they never met before because after talking they realized they had many mutual friends and went to rival high schools.  At the time Chase was finishing up at William and Mary playing football and Ashley was living in Orlando, so after that chance meeting at Shore Break they both went back to their colleges.  One day not too long after going back to school, Ashley got a phone call saying she had a package at the front desk of her school.  One wild goose chase later she found the package – a beautiful flower arrangement.  Attached to the arrangement was a small note that said “Nothing like Virginia Beach in the summer time.”  It took her a while to figure out who the flowers were from, but once she realized who they were from she knew Chase was someone she wanted to get to know better.  And the rest is history.

Chase’s proposal is one that will never be forgotten.  When he met Ashley it was love at first sight and he knew he wanted to marry her.  It took him a while to figure out exactly what he wanted to do and devise a plan to totally surprise Ashley.  He wanted it to be perfect but not too over the top.  So one evening while Ashley was hanging with her girls at Chick’s Oyster Bar, Chase got to work.  Ashley’s best friend was in on the plan and helped keep a look out and let Chase know when Ashley would be on her way home.  When Ashley pulled in the drive way there was a box of comfy clothes and shoes, since she still had her dress and heels on from work.  She got out of the car and asked Chase what was going on.  Chase told her to put the clothes on and climb the ladder to get on the roof with him.  At the time they were living on the water and had a great view from their one story home.  When they got to the roof Chase handed Ashley a small box.  Her hand immediately started shaking and Chase could tell she was getting teary eyed.  After opening the box Ashley realized it was a head lamp since they go fishing during the night time.  He could tell Ashley felt embarrassed thinking it was a ring.  Chase then walked over to the other side of the roof and asked Ashley if she could help him plug in the Christmas lights he had been working on earlier in the day for the house.  When he handed her the other end of the lights and she plugged it in the whole backyard spelled out MARRY ME.  Chase took a knee and she said YES!

Ashley and Chase love playing host and having friends over for a good time.  They love all the prep work that goes in to it – decorating, cooking, and just having fun with each other.Something people may not know about Chase:

Chase holds the collegiate record for most receiving touchdowns thrown to by different quarterbacks.  In his career at William and Mary he received touchdowns from six different quarter backs.

An interesting fact about Ashley:

Ashley was electrocuted by a lamp when she was a little girl while on vacation with her family.  She was hospitalized for it and has a scar on her thumb to show for it.
Chase says the thing he is anticipating most on their wedding day is seeing Ashley in her wedding dress.  He says that she is already gorgeous but seeing her walk down the isle will leave him breathless, along with everyone else.
